Upcoming Activities

  • Skills acquisition programme 
  1. To provide short skills training (6 days) on Soap making, perfumes, powder, mentholated balms, baking, body cream and hair cream for 100 women (50 women per batch), in IDP camps and host communities by August & October, 2025.
  2. To train 10 women TOT in 2 weeks November.
 
  • Health initiative
  1.  To hold a 1 week health awareness campaign on hygiene, HIV & AIDS, malaria in 3 IDP camps and 2 host communities in Benue & Taraba states. 
  2. To train 20 Community Health Workers (CHW) on basic life support skills in 5 clinics in each location. 
  3. To provide physco-social support for women and girls in distress.
 
  • Educational support (Second chance progamme)
  1. To provide scholarship (exam fee SSCE N 50,000. each) for 20 indigent girls in 5 communities of Benue and Taraba states. 
  2. To conduct advocacy programmes through media engagements, collaborations with coalitions, visits and townhall meetings on Alternative Schooling, alternative learning pathways and Technical and Vocational Training in 10. communities of Benue and Taraba states.

Our Achieved Projects

Empowering Displaced Communities with Skills Training & Humanitarian Support at Makurdi IDP Camp

Foundation for the Vulnerable is a humanitarian NGO with the mission to promote the development of vulnerable individuals and communities, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to their lives and environment.
Our vision is an improved quality of life for all vulnerable groups.

From August 27th to 28th, 2025, the Foundation conducted a two-day outreach program at the IDP Camp located at the International Market, Makurdi, Benue State.

Activities
The program consisted of two major activities:

Skills Acquisition Training

Charity in Action (CIA)

The event commenced at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, 27th August 2025.

Skills Acquisition Training
Five guest speakers addressed the IDPs on the importance of acquiring practical skills.
The keynote address was delivered on behalf of the Board of Trustees Chairman, Professor Zacharys Gundu, by Professor Alloy Ihuah, who encouraged participants to take the training seriously as a pathway to sustainable livelihood.

Two facilitators provided hands-on training on:

Organic soap production

Liquid soap production

Mentholated balm making

A total of 60 women participated in the training across the two days.

Charity in Action (CIA)
As part of our charity initiative, 26 IDPs received clothing materials.

The program concluded at 5:30 PM on 28th August 2025. Skills were successfully transferred, and the beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation for the impact.

Successfully taught the basics of organic and liquid soap, as well as mentholated balm production.

Observed active participation beyond the 60 selected trainees, as other IDPs showed interest and took notes.
